Pakistan’s biggest win in Asia Cup: beat Nepal by 238 runs, Babar-Iftikhar century; Shadab Khan took 4 wickets

World No. 1 Pakistan started their Asia Cup campaign with a bang on Wednesday, August 30. The team defeated Nepal by a huge margin of 238 runs in the opening match. This is Pakistan’s biggest win in this tournament.

After winning the toss and batting first, Pakistan scored 342 runs for 6 wickets in 50 overs. In reply, Nepal team was bowled out for 104 runs in 23.4 overs. Pakistan captain Babar Azam who played an innings of 151 runs was the player of the match.

Captain Babar Azam, Iftikhar Ahmed and Shadab Khan were the heroes of Pakistan’s victory.

There were no wickets in the middle overs as the Nepali fast bowlers dismissed Fakhar and Imam and put Pakistan under pressure. The team sent the Pakistani openers to the pavilion for 25 runs, but Babar-Rizwan took over the innings. The Nepali bowlers then failed to take wickets in the middle overs. After which Pakistan made a huge score of 342 runs.

Bad start against big score Nepal team chasing the target of 343 runs got off to a bad start. The team lost the top-3 wickets on the score of 14 runs. In such a situation, the entire pressure fell on the middle order, although Arif Sheikh and Sompal Kami spent some time at the crease, but it was not enough. Even the lower middle order all-rounders did not perform well.
