ITV’s Grace: Brighton filming locations in trailer for second series

A SERIES of Brighton locations have been spotted in Grace’s second season trailer. Ahead of the release of the new series of the ITV show, a one-minute teaser was released. Made up of four feature films, the new series will return to ITV on Sunday April 24 at 8 p.m. In the action-packed trailer, a number of locations around Sussex can be seen, including Brighton Beach, Devil’s Dyke and Shoreham Harbour. Brighton Beach The trailer begins with an overhead shot of Brighton Beach above Brighton’s West Pier. John Simm, who plays Detective Superintendent Roy Grace, can be seen standing on the pebbles. Brighton Palace Pier After a nighttime aerial view of Brighton beach, a dramatic shot of Brighton Palace Pier emerges. The pier has its lights illuminated before quickly transitioning to a photo of Detective Superintendent Roy Grace. Devil’s Dyke About a dozen police officers in forensic gear are also pictured on Devil’s Dyke. A cordoned off area appears to be searched by Roy Grace and the group of officers. Regency Square The trailer also features a quick shot of Roy Grace opening a car boot in what appears to be Regency Square in Brighton. Shoreham Harbor A clip of two people inside Shoreham Harbor also appears in the ad. While filming at the port last November, the Duchess of Cornwall attended the filming. Grace is an adaptation of Sussex author Peter James’ international bestsellers, which have sold 21 million copies worldwide. While the first series focused on crime, the second introduces the perspective of romance – which is hinted at in the trailer. In a recent interview, Simm said he remembers the characters being “a bit flirty in front of a lot of corpses”, describing it as “a good way to start” any romance. “We have a lot more to look forward to in Grace’s journey – with his wife, Sandy, and meeting Cleo and their love match reuniting,” he said. “So there’s a lot in store besides Peter’s Books’ wonderful gripping stories of the week.”
